Vermont Workers’ Compensation Rules Revised

On Friday, October 10, 2014, the Vermont Department of Labor announced that draft revisions to the Vermont Workers’ Compensation Rules are now available for review and comment. This is the first major revision to the Vermont Workers’ Compensation Rules since 2006.

Some of the major changes to the Rules include:

– The addition of a more user-friendly topical index
– The addition of a Forms index
– The addition of subheadings for better readability.

The draft revisions also have been reorganized and renumbered to more closely reflect the chronology of a typical workers’ compensation case.

Substantive changes have also been made to the Rules to reflect legislative changes and Vermont Supreme Court rulings.

The Vermont Department of Labor welcomes constructive written comments. Comments can be sent via email to [email protected] or by US Mail to Phyllis Phillips, Esq., Vermont Department of Labor, P.O. Box 488, Montpelier, VT 05601-0488.

Comments should be made on or before November 14, 2014.

We would like to thank Phyllis Phillips and the staff of the Vermont Department of Labor who worked so long and hard on these revisions.
